Honestly, as annoyed as I was when I first heard about the whole #1 pick going to a playoff team thing... the thought is kind of growing on me. I like the fact that we're basically guaranteed to see it go to a team that did not tank. I could maybe come around to the idea of something like "Best team to not make the playoffs gets #1, from there it goes down with worst team first" and so-on.

as for favorite/least favorite parts:

Most of Ellie's day 2 & day 3 were great. I really enjoyed some of the encounters in Hillcrest & The Seraphites. The California chapters were fun too. My horse getting blown up really caught me by surprise in day 1 too.

I really didn't like The Stadium, On Foot, The Forward Base, The Aquarium, or Winter Visit - that's five out of six of Abby's first Seattle Day 1 chapters. Total borefest.

I liked this game quite a bit. The story didn't have the same effect on me as the first one's, but it was fun and entertaining, and the gameplay seemed like a big step up. I haven't enjoyed many "stealth" games, but really like that element here.

I don't want to play it again any time soon, though. I went through a second time as far as I needed to for the platinum, and there are so many really fucking boring parts that can't be skipped.

Yeah, I went through all of the types. Didn't have too hard of a time with any, but I've got at least one solid BR 'mon of each type.

Moxie Gyarados and crit Togekiss both shred, so I went through 10 rounds with their three types. Only bothered getting five with the rest.

A lot of the QoL changes they made in gen 8 have really positively impacted my experience with the games:
Adding nature mints
Making it easier to farm money / exp candies
Daycare improvements like being able to pass egg moves without breeding
While likely accidental, the raid den exploits are super valuable because they make getting good/rare Pokemon a lot easier
The pokeball tiers and rewards in competitive make online battling easily accessible and rewarding

It's so much easier to build a competitive team than it ever was before.

Making TMs not single-use was pretty great too, same with removing HMs. A bit of a step backwards in g8 with TRs, but at least they're really easy to get.

The most recent DLC also made EV vitamins cost less and added a way to reset EVs completely. There's also a way to use Pokemon from a previous game in competitive, which is really nice. And lastly, you can now give normal 'mons the ability to gmax instead.

In terms of dumb stuff, there are always a bunch of gimmicks that don't work very well \_()_/

The 1 million Zeraora raids have been reached, so everyone can get a shiny Zeraora in Home next week. According to the Pokemon.com, to qualify to receive one:

You must have deposited a Pokmon in Pokmon HOME or moved a Pokmon to Pokmon Sword or Pokmon Shield from Pokmon HOME between Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. PDT and Monday, July 6, 2020, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

It'll apparently only be redeemable from June 29th to July 6th.

One type which did very poorly for me was Bug type, but it's a type that got dragged down by a lot of the NFE early game bugs.

Just played through what I had to in NG+ to finish my upgrades and this game is super annoying to replay. So many unskippable slow and boring parts.

Character spoilers: Abby's Seattle Day One is really shittily paced, especially after Ellie's chapters. It's so boring. Really pulls you out of the game.

Overall, I enjoyed the game, but especially the first half. I liked the first game quite a bit more.

The Last of Us Part II
It was fun, but dragged on a bit too much. Not sure if I'll replay to get all the collectibles. They're super annoying and there are too many unskippable slow parts. Makes me want to play the first one again - I haven't touched it since release.

Borderlands 3
I think this was my favorite in the series. I loved playing as Brick in BL1, then didn't really like any BL2 characters and skipped the pre-sequel. Moze is awesome.

I gotta look back and see what other games I've beaten in 2020. It's not a lot.
